…that apples have flowers inside them?
No, not real flowers, just shapes of them.
I was slicing up some apples, that were on their last legs or rather past the point of me eating them, to dry them with cinnamon and sugar and I noticed that even way down deep in the inside of this apple there is beauty.
There’s nothing to making apple chips really. You slice the apples thinly (from the top or bottom –I found that slicing from the bottom was easier). When you get to the seeds, just shake them out and continue slicing. Place on a baking sheet with parchment and top with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar and bake for what seems like an eternity in a low heated oven. Check their progress every 30 minutes and to turn over.
Such a great snack and a great way to use apples that you know you won’t eat when they’ve reached their prime.
